I’m Ethan, and I started Routed in Place in May 2025 as my personal sandbox for exploring open data on cities and transportation. I currently live in Providence, RI with my partner and our two cats.
I am a geospatial data analyst by profession. In 2024, I started working at MassDOT and the MBTA, where I develop transportation performance metrics and reporting solutions. Previously, I did applied demographic and economic research with the Planning Department at the City of Boston.
Many of the topics I cover in my blog are inspired by current or past work. However, all opinions expressed here are my own and do not express the views or opinions of my employer.
